S'ke (Syke)
It seems that along with the change of name, S'ke has taken on quite a change in appearance. His expressions seems to have clouded evermore than it had earlier, deep grey eyes having developed a tendency to stare off into space. His height's shot up, as it seems the boy's finally reached his growthspurt, and he's easily five foot nine now -- awkward at his age, even for a 'rider. Skin still tanned, it's unlikely that that bronzen tone is ever going to vanish now that he's in beach country for good. S'ke has lost a little weight, making him even leaner-built than previous, but that doesn't make up for the biggest change of all -- his hair. The right side is a series of black locks, falling a little past his ear, and the left side snipped haphazardly in just barely more than buzz-cut length. Though it's ridiculous-looking, he wears the haircut proudly.

Uniforms ho: just like his clutchmates, S'ke's outfit has gone from simply 'messy' to 'boring.' The orange tunic has one torn sleeve, which isn't surprising considering its wearer, and is missing a button. His boots are still his constant present boots, but the pants have changed again, into a dusty pair of blacks.

It's worn new, shiny and proud -- the orange and black double cords, and the finely twisted triple loop, noting S'ke an assistant weyrlingmaster of Ista, and the blue ribbon as Saikath's own.

He is a teenager of about 16.

Saikath
Murky eddies of turquoise swirl along the skeletal thinness of this young dragon, twisting and winding midst grays and tans as if his hide were marked by the waters of a desert pool and then bleached under a midday sun. Bluer sky reflections sweep from unusually pale oculars to the expanse of a staunch neck, only to give way to a sunworn cadet blue at the apex of shoulders, and across oddly creased-looking wings. This faded hue drifts along a slim back, touching every well-formed 'ridge, only to be reclaimed by sandy tides along his sides and stomach. Emaciated ribs emulate submerged driftwood, seeming ready to poke from the hide at any moment. There isn't an ounce of bulkiness on this blue; he looks as if his entire body has been honed to nothing but the essentials. Even the largeness of his seemingly dust-spattered paws do nothing to detract from his overall thinness, their mismatched size itself somehow fitting, as is the length of his formidable whiplash tail.

Saikath's straps are stitched awkwardly sideways, wearable and safe but only just. The leather is worn, and pulled taut as not to slip and cause any undue discomfort or danger. 'S' is embroidered into the corner -- the one thing that S'ke did to make his lifemate's straps look anything less than secondhand.

Saikath is 3 Turns, 9 months, and 22 days old.
He is 52 feet (17m) long, with a wingspan of 86 feet (28m).

History
Once upon a time, not too long ago, there was a nanny at High Reaches Weyr called Siannen. In fact, she's still there, along with many of her childhood friends and many of her children. There was also a brownrider named Sii'kyn, who rode Sidramuntalath, a dragon with a reputation for attempting to eat people. He's still around, too. The two of them had one child together, and that is Syke. He has many siblings on his mother's side, including Siren, Tenan, Tian and Mienne, along with all of the children of the late T'am, his mother's former weyrmate. His cousins are widespread as well (and may be at least a third of HT's populace by now), due to the fact of his grandfather's being R'sli, who had many adopted and biological children alike. This makes Syke a relative to many important people, including two of High Reaches' weyrwomen (Areiah and Ashli), Ista's Weyrharper, one of Ista's weyrwomen (Hannah), Ista Hold's steward, and a collection of eclectic lesser-known folk.

Growing up for Syke was never any particularly exciting experience to an onlooker, but being a weyrbrat was All Good Fun. He grw up surrounded by aunts, uncles, cousins, parents, siblings and close family friends, which, while annoying, was also fun when it came to the cousins and siblings of the appropriate age to help him Prank Everyone. He was a real troublemaker at High Reaches until the age of four -- in fact, one of the youngest variety of troublemakers that one could find, considering Tian and Tenan taught him how to whine to get whatever he wanted starting when he was a little over a turn old -- when Sii'kyn had some falling out with his weyrmate, Trajan, and took son and dragon home to family in Southern Weyr.

Until he was six and a half, that's where Syke lived, just being the weyrbrat of weyrbrats, not furthering himself in any way, having fun, being a child, running away from his Harper lessons as often as humanly possible, and acquiring a brown firelizard by the name of Merin who looks rather a lot like a miniature Sidramuntalath.

Right before his seventh turnday, it was Mother's turn again, and thus Syke arrived back at High Reaches, dropped off by Southern's dragonhealer Pae and her brown Uzasnyth, a former High Reaches rider.

Just a fortnight later, there was a Hatching - he sat with his mother and sister Siren, the not-actually-related weyrsecond Auntie Wyn, and his father's ex, Trajan -- when Sii'kyn made his appearance as a guest.

Syke leapt to go cling to him, but Ike didn't have much time for his son, which left the boy rather depressed, or as best depressed as a seven-turn-old could be. It changed yet again for the better, though, when Sii'kyn moved back to High Reaches a turn later.

Now, with family drama mostly aside, Syke was living well at twelve and a half, still running his pranks and hiding from the Harpers. The only absence was his favourite sibling, Siren (according to her, he is also the only one that she can stand of her siblings) who's spending a lot of her time at Ista, considering her status as Assistant Headwoman, and perhaps also, maybe, possibly her relationship with D'baji, which Syke teased her about when she visited but never really got any answers about.

He'd mostly stopped wondering -- since it's Siren's business, and getting Siren's business out of her is difficult -- but he does want to see Ista for himself, as well as Crom, where he'd made friends from as well - Mienta, Jacquendi and Maglor, three of the Holder's children.

Syke had planned, then, to bother his father for a trip around Pern. This plan was interrupted, however, when after a peaceful conversation with X'ner and Nezdarvyth, N'ano's Bydelth caught Syke in his forepaw, saying to N'ano that he'd "caught one" -- leading N'ano to bring Syke back to Ista as a Candidate.

Turns out that wasn't what Bydelth actually meant, but when N'ano decided Syke was fine anyhow, Bydelth decided he was a good choice, which lead N'ano to facepalm.

One eventful Candidacy later, Syke was out on the sands for the hatching of Ryazusith and Nverath's clutch -- barefoot, just like Sii'kyn -- when a green hatched and had the nerve to Impress his sister, calling herself Iqiazath. The blue that hatched next still wasn't particularly lovely - no, he'd be called young, sort of tall, and definitely long, but not 'pretty' -- but that blue turned out to be his: S'ke's Saikath, at just a little over 13 turns old.

S'ke and Saikath entered Weyrlinghood with their sisters by their sides -- Sin and Iqiazath, that is. Acquaintances of his who also Impressed were Ryran, Talara, Avery, Syseron, Sorcha, and Ayla ... while many friends went to their homes, the young blue dinh and his lifemate ka-mai were ready to go.
